Abstract
This study is significant because it utilizes a variety of methods, including ancient DNA, to assess a vital question regarding the florescence of a population in Northern Mexico. Ongoing debate regarding the causes behind these significant cultural changes worldwide are many, and migration had been a primary focus at the site of Paquimé in the Casas Grandes region. However, the lack of genetic distinction across a 700-y period demonstrates that the cultural changes were internal and the rationale did not include a large-scale in-migration from other regions.
